A Cotton Gin
 
 

 Introduction:

The cotton gin is a device for removing the seeds from cotton fiber. Before the invention of the cotton gin, cotton seed had to be removed by hand, work that was usually performed by slaves.

The Cotton Gin is said to have begun the Industrial Revolution, and made an immediate impact upon the American industry.

Material and instructions:
In this project you investigate to find out what is a cotton gin and how it works. Study the history of the cotton gin and it's impact in agriculture, industry and economy of the United States. Make a model of a cotton gin.

Materials needed for making a model of a cotton gin can be found at home or obtained locally.

Note: This is a display project. You will not have a question, variables and hypothesis for this project. Your experiment is making a model and show how a cotton gin works.
