Volcano Model
|
| |
|
| |
|
Introduction
The purpose of this project is to produce a model that
simulates the building processes found in actual
volcanoes. These processes include the layering of ash
from the eruption to the formation of the cinder cone.
They also show how the mass of the cone in time causes
the Caldera to form when the crater collapses in on
itself. A model can also be made that simulates the
violent eruptions of a composite volcano. For this
model, additional chemicals are required to produce the
violent explosive eruption responsible for hurling dust
and pyroclastic bombs into the air. |

Material
and instructions
You may use a large variety of material to build your volcanic
cone, clay, plaster of paris and some molding pastes are among
your options. Proper painting will give a realistic look to your
volcano.
To make your volcano erupt, you can use a variety of chemical
reactions that violently create a large amount of gas, forcing
the liquid material out of your cone. |
Details
of this project
More details on this project is available in the members section
of ScienceProject.com web site. There you can find many
different ways of constructing your volcano model and making it
erupt. You might already have all the necessary material to
build and erupt your volcano model at home. |
