Introduction:
Where we have air, we also have air pressure. To each
square centimeter of our body air applies 1 kilogram
pressure. Just look at your hands; depending on the size
of your hands the pressure of the air on each of your
hands may be 200 to 500 kilograms.
Our bodies are used and
are adjusted to such pressure. We will be in trouble if
air pressure stops in any way. With the enormous
pressure of the air, I am wondering if it can be used to
do something like pushing, bending or breaking objects.
I have heard that air
pressure can be used to crush metal cans and to push an
egg into a bottle. In this project you will investigate
to see if air pressure can really do any of these.
